DIY Chocolate Bunny Martini Gift in a Drink Carrier

Before chocolate bunny season ends, put some of these chocolate bunny-tini gifts together for friends, neighbors, coworkers, employees, a spring party favor or as a spring hostess gift.

If you’ve followed along with me for long, you know I have a thing for gifts in a drink carrier. I couldn’t help but turn this gift idea into one. One side for the chocolate bunny “cup” (if you will) and the other side for the chocolate martini.

Supplies to Create This Chocolate Bunny-Tini Gift (click links in bold to shop)

Here is everything you’ll need to recreate this gift, but feel free to make it your own:

  • Chocolate martini – I used 55th Avenue Mexican Style Chocolate Martini which is delicious. I picked mine up at Total Wine or they’ll ship to your door in most states. Alternatively, you could make this an alcohol free gift by swapping out the chocolate martini for chocolate milk, a bottle of Starbucks mocha Frappuccino, a chocolate protein shake for a more health conscious recipient, etc.
  • Paper shred – to put inside the drink carrier to elevate the chocolate bunny. Alternatively, you could use tissue paper.
  • Cellophane bags
  • Knife to trim the bunny ears off
  • Tape – to attach the straw to the carrier
  • Glue or other adhesive to attach the bow to the drink carrier
  • Cardstock to print the free printable bunny-tini tag

Instructions to Create the Chocolate Bunny “Cup”

To me, the best part of this gift is using a chocolate bunny to serve a cocktail. Here are steps and tips to follow when creating yours:

  • Peel the foil off of the ear section only of the chocolate bunny. This makes it easier to pick the bunny up without constantly handling the chocolate
  • Heat a knife. I dipped mine in hot water then wiped it with a paper towel. Carefully cut the top section of the bunny’s ears off revealing the hole inside. Save the ears for the next step.
How to prep a chocolate bunny to be filled with a drink
  • Melt the bunny ear scraps that you cut off or you could use candy melts.
  • Spread some of the melted chocolate onto the cut part of the chocolate bunny.
  • Immediately dip that end into sprinkles.
  • Once the chocolate hardens, remove the rest of the foil.

Now the chocolate bunny is ready to be packaged!

How to Assemble the Drink Carrier Gift

  • Open up the drink carrier.
  • Place the prepared chocolate bunny in a cellophane bag.
  • Add paper shred or tissue paper to the left side of the drink carrier.

  • Place the chocolate bunny on top of the paper so you can see it better.
  • Add the chocolate martini or other chocolate drink to the right side of the drink carrier.
  • Print the chocolate bunny-tini tag. Make sure you select high quality or best quality in print settings.
  • Cut out the tag and attach it to the drink carrier.
  • Tape the paper straw to the front of the drink carrier.
  • Attach a bow to the drink carrier and it is ready for gifting!
