It’s teacher appreciation week so it’s the perfect time to express gratitude to teachers for their hard work and influence on our children. Teacher friends I know have endless amounts of cute apple shaped containers they’ve received, so I wanted to find a more practical container that can be used throughout the year.
I love that this bento spinner is round so I can make it sort of look like an apple. Consider giving this unique, practical and thoughtful gift: a bento spinner filled with small items that your favorite teacher will surely appreciate.

To recreate this teacher appreciation gift, you’ll need the following materials:
- Bento Spinner Container: Teachers can use these to pack snacks to have on hand at their desk, or could even use it to organize small desk supplies.
Small Items to Fill It: Consider including a mix of treats and practical items, such as:
- Chocolates I used Ghirardelli Salted Caramel Chocolates
- Cute pink and gold binder clips and paper clips (useful for organizing classroom materials)
- A gift card – Starbucks has the cutest apple-shaped gift cards
- Post it notes – only the small ones fit in the container
- Mini to-do, daily intention, etc. sticky notes – these are so cute and teachers can keep these at their desk to stay on top of goals, intentions and to-dos.
- Laneige mini lip balm – I buy this set and use them in all sorts of gifts. They are a great quality and currently trending.
- Bath and Body Works Hand sanitizer – They are always having sales on these hand sanitizers and they are great to have on hand for gifting.
- Red Tule: This will wrap around the bento spinner, giving it an apple-esque appearance.
- Leaf – optional to add to the apple appearance. I just pulled one off of a tree and hot glued it to the gift.
- Ribbon to attach the tie
- Clear elastic band – I used this to secure the tule at the top but you could use the ribbon or twist tie
- Hot glue or other adhesive to add the optional leaf
- Cardstock or paper to print the free printable tag
- Free Printable Apple Tag: A free printable tag adds a personal touch to your gift:
How to Assemble the Teacher Appreciation Gift

- Fill the Bento Spinner: Start by placing the small items inside the compartments of the bento spinner. Mix sweet treats with practical supplies to create a balanced surprise.
- Wrap it Up: I cut out 6 strips of the tule, folded it in half. Place the spinner on top of tool and bring the ends of the tule together on top.
- Secure the tule together using a clear elastic, ribbon, twist tie, whatever you have on hand
- Print the free printable tag using the highest quality print setting. Cut it out.
- Attach the tag to the gift using ribbon.
- Glue a leaf to the center giving the gift more of an apple-like appearance.
