  • White chocolate or white yogurt covered pretzels
  • Red candy melts
  • Blue candy melts
  • Edible star sprinkles
  • Small cookie scoop. The 1 tbsp scoop size would work best
  • Ice Cream – I used patriotic colored ice cream from Target but Vanilla tasted better with the pretzels in my opinion
  • Optional: Patriotic sprinkles – in case you want to take these up another level and dip the sides of the sandwiches in sprinkles . If I were using vanilla ice cream I would add sprinkles for more color

How to Make Patriotic Pretzel Ice Cream Sandwiches:

Decorate the Top Pretzels:

  • Start with white yogurt or white chocolate-covered pretzels as your base. Melt red candy melts and drizzle it over the pretzels to look like the red stripes of the American flag. Allow it to set.
  • Next, dip one corner of each pretzel in melted blue candy melts.
  • To make it even more flag-like, sprinkle star-shaped sprinkles over the blue.
  • Allow the candy melts to harden.

Assemble the Pretzel Ice Cream Sandwiches

  • Using a mini cookie scoop, make a scoop of ice cream and place it on the bottom pretzel. Top it off with the beautifully decorated pretzel to create your ice cream sandwich.
  • If you are using vanilla ice cream and want a little more color, consider rolling the edges of the ice cream sandwiches in patriotic sprinkles.

Enjoy the sweet and salty combination!
