Creative Non-Candy Easter Egg Filler Idea: Play-Doh Surprise

Kids receive so much candy at Easter, it’s nice to have non-candy Easter egg fillers to round things out. This Easter, skip the sugar rush and create these candy-alternative Easter eggs.

This is a quick and easy Easter DIY. You can even use these as a classroom Easter gift for your child’s classmates. Involve your kids in putting these together for their friends.

Supplies You’ll Need:

Here are the supplies I used, but feel free to add your own creative spin: (shopping links are underlined)

  • Easter-shaped clear plastic eggs – I found bunny and chick shaped eggs at the Dollar Tree. Hurry and grab them while they’re still in stock

  • Play-Doh (various colors) – I used this set. I used almost a full can per Easter egg.

  • Small bunny erasers (to be a hidden surprise inside the Play-Doh) Feel free to use other Easter shapes. I found mine at Dollar Tree.

  • Glitter confetti mix – I found mine at Michael’s. Any glitter/confetti/beads will work. The set I used had small gem shaped beads.

  • Letter beads to personalize each egg

Instructions:

  • Fill the Eggs: Start by filling each plastic egg with a generous scoop of colorful Play-Doh.
  • Tuck the surprise bunny eraser in the center of the dough.
  • Sprinkle the glitter confetti mix on the top.
  • Spell out the recipients name using letter beads. Press them into the dough enough so they don’t move out of place
