DIY Clear Ornament Gift Card Holder Wrapped Like a Piece of Candy

If you’re looking for a creative way to present a gift card for teachers, employees, family or friends, consider putting together a clear ornament filled with a gift card and other small goodies all wrapped up to look like a piece of candy. This blog post will guide you through the steps of assembling a fun and memorable gift for your favorite teachers—or anyone else on your list!

What You’ll Need to Recreate This Clear Ornament Gift:

  • Tape
  • Scissors

Filler items- you can get creative with what you want to include. This is what I used:

  • Gift card to store of your choice

  • Lip balm. I used melon and strawberry. I made keychains out of them like in this post, but the lip balms alone are a great addition. Who doesn’t need lip balm through the winter?! Reach out in the comments if you’d like the supply info for the keychain charms and a video of putting the lip balm keychains together.

  • Gather supplies.
  • Add crinkle paper to both sides of the ornament.
  • Add gift card and other gifts to the ornament.
  • Close ornament.
  • Place ornament in the center of double layer of tissue paper.
  • Roll it up, adding tape to secure.
  • Use star garland to tie the tissue paper on each side of the ornament to create a piece of candy effect.
  • Attach gift tag to one end.
  • Attach gold bell to the star garland

Now your ornament is ready to gift! While this particular gift was designed for dance teachers (hence the nutcracker ornament,) the gift idea can easily be adapted for friends, family, school teachers, coaches, employees, clients, bus drivers, colleagues, etc.—just swap out the items for things that suit their tastes!

Merry Christmas!
