Looking for a fun and unique mini Halloween boo gift for a teen or tween friend? Consider putting together a light-up ghost gift with hidden surprises inside! This makes for a great mini boo basket, you’ve been booed gift or Halloween party favor.
Bonus, once they get their gifts out of the containers they can use the ghost as a cute light up Halloween decoration.

Supplies:
Here is everything I used to put these together but feel free to customize them of course (click affiliate links in bold to shop)
Light Up Ghost Supplies
- Clear Ornaments
- 16 ounce white (or clear cup)
- White Pipe Cleaners
- Plastic White Table Cloth – grab one at Dollar Tree, Walmart or Target. Or you could use white fabric or a sheet
- Sheer Glitter Tulle
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun
- Mini Light Sets
- Boo Pick
- Mini Pumpkin Buckets from Dollar Tree. They are also available on Amazon, link here, but are more expensive. These are optional of course. If you can’t find them, you can skip the white pipe cleaner arm or you could still do the arm and just add a boo pick in it like it’s holding a sign.
- Black Foam Sheet or Paper for the eyes
- Black and White Ribbon
Small Boo Gift Items Inside
These are the gifts I added but use whatever you choose and what fits your budget:
- Laneige Minis
- Nerd Ropes
- Mini Tic Tacs – teens and tweens go crazy over these.
- Halloween Face Masks
- Halloween Candy
Assembling Your Ghost Shaped Gift:
- Add the face mask and a few other items in the plastic cup leaving space around the perimeter for fairy lights
- Add fairy lights around the inside of the cup leaving the power switch end out of the cup.
- Hot glue the power switch end to the outside of the cup.

- Add white paper shred to the two halves of the ornament
- Fill with other small gifts and/or candy and close.

- Place the ornament on top of the plastic cup.
- Place two white pipe cleaners together and fold them in half. Bend them to create and arm shape. Tuck one end into the cup under the ornament.

- Use hot glue to secure the ornament and arm in place.
- Cut a circle out of the plastic table cloth large enough to cover the ornament and cup assembly. Test to make sure it fits.
- Once you’re sure it’s a good fit, use that circle as a template to cut a circle out of the glitter tulle.
- Place the tablecloth circle into the ornament and cup assembly
- Add the glitter tulle circle
- If adding a pumpkin bucket, hang it from the arm
- You could also add a lightweight candy or gift in the bucket
- Add a boo pick to the bucket
- Cut oval shaped eyes out of the black foam or black paper and attach to the ghost using hot glue
- Create a bow using the ribbon and attach it using hot glue. I always watch a double bow finger tutorial video to remind myself how to make them.

Gifting
Now your mini boo gifts are ready for gifting! Turn the lights on before dropping them off on someone’s doorstep or delivering them in person. They are so cute!!
