Create eye-catching ghost-shaped sugar cookies that will be a hit this Halloween! For a playful and unique twist, add a Halloween cupcake pick in the ghost’s hand, making it appear as if it’s holding a sign that says “Boo.”
You can add icing but we like them best without. Dusted with powdered sugar, they look even more ghostly. They are a cute and spooky Halloween sweet treat to bring to a Halloween party or package up and include in a boo basket.

Steps to Make Ghost Halloween Sugar Cookies Holding a Boo Pick:
- Roll out your sugar cookie dough
- Cut out ghost shaped dough, and place on parchment paper lined pan.
- Carefully fold one of the ghost arms over a plain toothpick (NOT the decorative cupcake pick!) so it looks like the ghost is holding it.

- Bake in the oven according to package or recipe instructions.
- After removing the cookies from the oven, allow them to rest for a few minutes but not longer before removing the toothpicks.
- Carefully twist the toothpick to release it from the cookie and then carefully remove it.
- Ice your ghost cookies or sprinkle them with powdered sugar to make them white or you can just leave them plain.
- Add eyes to your ghost. I used cookie icing to add simple eyes, you could use candy eyeballs instead or add a mouth, make them your own.
- Carefully add the boo cupcake pick to the hole that the toothpick was in.
- Your ghost cookies holding boo signs are now ready to serve!
