Steps to Prepare These Decorated Mini Cheesecake Jars
Baking the Cheesecakes in Mini Jars:
There are plenty of delicious no-bake recipes out there so feel free to do that to save time. The birthday girl I was making these for loves white chocolate raspberry desserts so I chose this baked cheesecake recipe. If baking your cheesecakes, here are the steps to take:
Mini Cheesecake Crusts:
- Prepare the crust ingredients per the recipe you choose
- Press approximately a tablespoon of crust in each mini jar
- Bake if the recipe requires the crust to be baked before adding the filling. The recipe I used did not call for pre-baking the crust. If you bake them, reduce the baking time significantly since the cheesecakes are so small.
Mini Cheesecake Filling:
- Prepare the cheesecake filling ingredients per the recipe
- Pour the cheesecake filling over the crust
- If you are using the same recipe I did, you will then swirl the raspberry sauce on the top of each mini cheesecake
Baking the Mini Cheesecakes:
- Add the mini jars to a baking dish.
- Fill the dish halfway up the side of the mini jars with water for a water bath.
- Bake the cheesecakes until set on the edges with a slight jiggle in the center. For me this took 30 minutes while the normal size cheesecake takes twice that time.
- Allow the cheesecakes to cool, screw the lids on then refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
Decorating These Mini Cheesecakes
The mini cheesecakes are cute on their own but adding a glitter topper, circle tag, ribbon and mini fork elevates them even more. Here is what I did:
DIY Edible Glitter Numbers (Can be swapped out for any shape that a candy mold comes in)
To truly make these mini cheesecakes sparkle, I created DIY edible glitter numbers. You can easily make these using edible glitter and number molds or whatever mold corresponds with your theme.
- Melt candy melts in the microwave. It really only takes one melt per number (or mold cavity.) I melted just 3 at a time and filled the four and the zero with a little left over. If you melt it all at once, it will harden before you’re finished creating your numbers.
- Fill the mold with the melted candy melt and scrape off the excess.
- I tapped the mold a few times on the counter to clear away any air bubbles
- Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until the candy melt hardens
- Repeat until you have the amount of decorations you need
- Add non pareil sprinkles to a bowl or zipper bag.
- Add edible glitter to the bowl or bag and mix.

- Add your molded numbers or shapes to the bowl or bag and shake to coat with glitter.
- Remove and they are ready to top the mini cheesecakes
Create Circle Tag Topper for Mini Cheesecakes:
Here are a few options you can use for the decorative jar lid toppers:
Here is the Canva template I created. You can edit it to match your event.
(If you don’t want to design your own toppers, simply buy some cute scrapbook paper and cut out circles using a 2 inch circle punch.)
If you’re familiar with Canva, follow these steps to design your own toppers:
- Create a circle tag in Canva, design it according to your event then download it as a png file. Create a letter size file in Canva, insert the image of your circle tag into the letter size page, sizing it at 2.01 inches.
- Copy and repeat the tag as many will fit on the letter size page.
- Print the page on cardstock using the highest quality print setting.
- Cut the tags out with scissors or speed things up using the 2 inch circle punch. I have used my circle punch for so many events. It’s so useful for creating professional looking tags.

Bring All the Decorations Together:
- Tie a ribbon around. I just double knotted mine and trimmed the ends on an angle.
- Tuck in a mini gold fork or spoon.
- Attach the circle tag to the lid using a glue dot or adhesive of choice.
