Creating a fun and trendy goodie bag for teens doesn’t have to break the bank. Dollar Tree and dollar sections often have basic cosmetic bags. Zhuzh them up and personalize them with some simple supplies.
Sometimes it’s difficult to know what to put in a teen or preteen favor bag. I am in the center of the teen world right now and with my teens guidance, I’ll share what is trending right now. The best part of this gift (in her humble opinion) is the DIY travel size Sol de Janeiro. I’m sharing how we made ours and what we included.

DIY Goodie Bag
- Bag: Start with a cosmetic bag. No need to spend a fortune on this part of the gift. I found mine at Dollar Tree but you can often find them in the Target dollar section, Five Below or a multipack on Amazon.
- Pretty ribbon. I often pick up ribbon bundles at Michaels like this one
Instructions: Simply add an initial sticker to each bag and tie a few coordinating ribbons to the bag’s zipper. Such an easy DIY that elevates and personalizes a basic cosmetic bag.
DIY Travel Sized Sol de Janeiro
Pre-teen and teen girls are loving all the Sol de Janeiro scents. Create a DIY travel size spray to add to the goodie bags. They can toss them in their backpack, sports bag or purse without having to bring a giant bottle.
- Optional number stickers to add the number to the travel Sol de Janeiro bottles
Instructions: Fill the spray bottles with the perfume. Label them with the number stickers so they know which perfume is inside.
