Looking for entryway shoe storage ideas? Our new home did not come with a mud room or any space where I could put in those cute storage units for backpacks and shoes. There really was no entryway, just a hallway. We were tripping over shoes and backpacks every time we walked in the door. We needed a shoe storage solution!
I don’t like open shoe racks just sitting in our main living space especially when I’m sure they wouldn’t be neatly placed on there. Behind closed doors is always better! I didn’t want a shoe rack in the stairway that leads to our garage because: spiders and bugs. I didn’t want a pull-out shoe cabinet because it isn’t ideal for boots and backpacks. When we decided to get a new puppy, I knew I had run out of time to put off finding a solution. I finally settled on this shoe cabinet available here on Amazon or here on Walmart <—click bold type words for links.
What a difference it made! Living with the pile of shoes for so long made the shoe storage solution that much sweeter. There are four shelves in the cabinet, but I chose to remove one so that backpacks could fit in the bottom.

Hi Laura, sorry it took us so long to respond! Yes the shoe cabinet definitely fits adult sized shoes. I just measured the shelf and it is 11.5 inches deep so I would say up to men’s size 12 shoe should fit. Anything over that size would have to go in sideways. Thanks for stopping by!
