DIY Taco Garland Instructions

To make this taco garland, I started with hard shelled taco shells and acrylic paints to paint some geometric designs inspired by hwtm on Instagram. This is a place where you can get creative and make them your own – add stripes, polka dots, choose a color theme, whatever design moves you, have fun!

Once the paint is dry, squeeze some glue onto one plate and sprinkles on another. My kids took turns dipping the front edge of each taco first in the glue and then in the spinkles as inspired by taylordaniellemaurer on Instagram. The sprinkles add such a colorful and festive touch! You can save the leftover supplies and use them as a fun Cinco de Mayo kids activity – paint your own taco shells. Just make sure they don’t eat them of course!

You can stop here and use the painted and sprinkled taco shells to dress up your table setting, you could add names and have taco place cards, add them to your buffet table, etc. They are so cute on their own.

If you decide to go with the taco garland, simply hang a string and place the tacos on top. Easy, easy but super cute and sure to impress! Some ideas to take it up another notch: You could layer two or more garlands together, add pom poms or tassels between the tacos, layer with another fiesta themed garland, add fairy lights, add these cactus fairy lights, glue a triangular tortilla chip to the back of each one to create the look of sombreros like this:
