Thanksgiving/Fall-Themed Charcuterie Board with Leaf-Shaped Cheese

Leaf-shaped cheese slices will add a fun fall touch to your fall/Thanksgiving charcuterie board. Kids seem to enjoy helping out in the kitchen so cutting and stamping the cheese slices is a great little project for them.

My close friend Jess of Nosh Charcuterie is the queen of charcuterie boards. She first turned me on to them years ago and I’ve never looked back. Our recent girl’s trip to Nashville began with her whipping up an amazing board to enjoy with cocktails as we settled in and as friends arrived. Jess’s boards put mine to shame. Charcuterie Boards are great with wine or cocktails, as an appetizer or even a meal. If you aren’t familiar with a charcuterie board, charcuterie is basically a French word for cold meats. It is pronounced Shar-coo-da-ree. Most charcuterie boards start with meat and add in cheeses, crackers, breads, nuts, fruits, you name it. They are so much fun to put together.

We celebrated Thanksgiving early this year and having a board to snack on while we prepped for the main event was perfect. Our board was probably more of a cheese board as it was very light on the meat.

I started with this acacia wood serving tray that I picked up with my Walmart grocery pickup. I love the tone of the wood and the gold handles.

For the leaf shaped cheese, I ordered small square shaped cheese slices at the grocery store. They are the perfect size for these leaf shaped cutters/ stamps.

I purchased fondant stampers at Michaels which are not currently available but here are some available on Amazon. I’m thinking I may get the Christmas themed ones for my Christmas charcuterie board.

They make the most adorable leaf shaped cheeses! You could also use them to cut other leaf shaped food.

My charcuterie board included the following:

  • Cranberry walnut bread from Costco (amazing!)
  • Triscuits
  • Mango cheese
  • Pomegranate arils
  • Pepperoni
  • Spanish queen olives
  • Savencia Cheese Alouette Spread
  • Assorted Cracker Barrel cheese slices in the shape of leaves
  • Red grapes
  • A cute mini pumpkin
