Introducing your new favorite fruity cocktail, the strawberry mojito! I have become known for my strawberry mojitos and it is often requested for gatherings or when people come to visit. They are always, always a crowd-pleaser and taste just like summer!

I had my first strawberry mojito at a restaurant years ago and it instantly became my favorite cocktail. As with most things that are love at first taste, I headed to the kitchen to attempt to re-create a strawberry mojito recipe for myself. The result was delicious!

Strawberry Mojito Ingredients

To make a pitcher of strawberry mojitos (and trust me, you won’t want just one glass) add ten de-stemmed strawberries, ½ c sugar and one cup of white rum (we’ve had good results with Don Q or Bacardi) to a blender, ninja or nutribullet, whatever you have, and purée.

Next: In a pitcher, muddle a sprig of mint (around 5 leaves). You can use a muddler to do the muddling, or if you don’t have one, use a meat mallet or the end of a kitchen utensil, whatever you have. Just press down gently and turn with whatever tool you’re using to release the oils. Don’t over muddle to avoid a bitter drink. (You can substitute fresh basil for the mint for a strawberry basil mojito – yum!)

Next, add the juice of two fresh limes. Trust me here, fresh is best! Add the strawberry purée mixture (through a sieve if you prefer to keep the seeds out) to your pitcher and one cup of club soda. Add plenty of ice. Stir before serving over more ice. Garnish your strawberry mojito with a strawberry, sprig of mint and/or a slice of lime.

Cheers to the best strawberry mojito you’ve ever made!
